51st District State Senator Kyle McCarter is a member of six Senate Committees: Commerce (Minority Spokesperson); Agriculture and Conservation; Education; State Government and Veterans’ Affairs; Licensed Activities; and Financial Institutions.

Before becoming Senator, Kyle McCarter was a member of the St. Clair County Board for eight years.

Senator McCarter is a small business man who lives in Lebanon, where he operates Custom Product Innovations and Custom Coating Innovations. As a business owner, Kyle knows state government must play a productive role in fostering economic development and job growth.

Kyle has also served on the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for six years, including two years as President and four years as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee from 2004-2008.  

As a member of the St. Clair County Board, one of McCarter’s top priorities was property tax reform. He took the initiative to create a citizen action organization -- OurTaxMoney.org -- to combat rapidly rising property taxes. He also took a leadership role in pushing for Medical Malpractice Reform while President of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce.

Senator McCarter and his wife Victoria have been married for 25 years. They have two sons, Zachary and Austin.
